APIS
Airlines are legally obliged to allow customs and immigration authorities access to passenger details, as mentioned in the airline booking. For more information see the Notification of the European Commission.
For the purpose of ensuring aviation safety and security, various countries follow the Advanced Passenger Information System for international travellers. This means that international travellers provide certain information to the airline before travelling to or via certain countries, about themselves and about their place of stay. The airline will pass this information on to the authorities of the country where APIS applies. In order to minimise unnecessary delays at the airport, we recommend you to provide the APIS-details prior to travelling to the airport.
Passengers must provide this information at the moment they check in, either at the Self Service
check-in desks at the airport or through the Internet.
If you choose to provide the information at the airport this can lead to longer waiting
times. To prevent delays we recommend to check in and provide the information on line, before going
to the airport.
Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) currently applies for travel to/from/via:
- Australia
- Canada
- China
- Hongkong
- India
- Japan
- Mexico
- New Zealand
- United Arab Emirates
- United Kingdom (Great Britain)
- United States
- Zuid Afrika
- Zuid Korea
