Check-in facilities

With most airlines nowadays it's possible to check in online (only e-tickets). This can save you a lot of time.

Of course you can also still check in at the airport check-in desk or -machine. Below you will find an overview of the conditions and other check-in possibilities the airlines offer. If the airline you are flying with is not mentioned, please check the website of the airline.

NB Please be aware that early check-in (by internet) can be an obstacle when changing the checked-in flight afterwards.

 

If you are not sure if you will travel on a certain flight, we advise you not to check in beforehand!

 

 

Air Canada
Online check-in is possible from 24 hours up to 2 hours before departure for intercontinental flights. Check the Air Canada website for more information.

Air France
You can check in online from 30 hours* before departure and print out your boarding pass. Go to the Air France website for more check-in possibilities.

Air France, KLM and Northwest offer a combined internet check-in service. This means for example that when you check in online from France with a KLM ticket, you can be redirected to the Air France website.

Online check-in is possible from 30 hours up to 1 hour before departure.

From 24 hours up to 30 minutes before departure you can check in online and print out your boarding pass, with which you can go directly to the safety check on the airport.

British Airways
Online check-in is possible from 24 hours before departure. Go to the Manage My Booking page on the BA website

  • choose the Menu Check in Online

  • follow a few easy steps – confirm booking details, answer security questions, select a seat.
  • print your boarding card

 

The above procedure is also applicable for travellers to the USA in regard to Advanced Passenger Information (API).

Brussels Airlines

Online check-in is possible from 24 hours before departure.

Cathay Pacific

Online check-in is possible from 48 hours up to 1,5 hour before departure. You can also use the Self Service Check-in machines at Schiphol.

Continental Airlines

Online check-in is possible from 24 hours up to 1 hour before departure for travellers:

  • with an eTicket originating in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Israel;
  • on both international and domestic flights in the US;
  • with carry on bags or check-in bags.

 

You can also print out your boarding pass after checking in online with which you may proceed directly to security at the airport.

 

Go to the Continental Airlines website, select "Travel Center" and "Flight Check-in." You can print your boarding pass on regular paper. If you don't have access to a printer, there is an option to have your boarding card faxed to your location, simply by choosing the "Request Fax" option during the check-in process.

 

Continental Airlines also offers customers departing from Amsterdam the possibility to check in through the airport kiosks at Schiphol Airport.

Jet Airways
Online check-in is possible from Brussels, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore from 48 hours before departure for Jet Airways First and Premiere Class passengers and Jetprivilege Platinum and Gold card holders. JetPrivilege Silver and Blue card holders can use this facility from 24 hours before departure and other passengers from 12 hours before departure. KLM
Online check-in is possible from 30 hours up to 1 hour before departure. For a European round trip ticket you can check-in both ways via internet one day before departing.

 

Here's what you need to do:

 

Step 1:

Go to the Viewtrip website to request your electronic ticket number.

 

Step 2:

Then go to the KLM site: KLM Internet Check-In to check in.

 

On the day of departure:
Luggage needs to be dropped off at one of the luggage issuing points in the Departure Hall. These will close down 60 minutes before departure of the plane (40 minutes for European flights). You need to be at the gate at least 20 minutes before take-off for European flights and 30 minutes for intercontinental flights. If you only have hand luggage, you can walk directly to the gate once you have passed the customs.

LOT  
If you only have hand luggage, you can check in by phone from 16.00 hours the day before your departure, until 1 hour before departure. You can pick up your boarding pass at the airport until 30 minutes before departure time.

Online check-in is possible from 22 hrs to 1 hour before departure.

A print-out of the web check-in will do as proof. Are you travelling from Schiphol Airport with carry-on luggage only? With this print-out, you can go directly to the gate, without first picking up their boarding card. For other airports counts that after checking in on-line, you still need to pick up your boarding card before departure. Are you travelling from Schiphol Airport with checked luggage only? Then please get your luggage labels at the check-in machines at Schiphol, and drop off your luggage at the special economy class and business class luggage drop counters.

 

Check-in machines
You can also use the SAS check-in machines at Schiphol with your Travel pass, corporate card, eurobonus and credit card.

 

Voice check-in for SAS EuroBonus members
Are you a SAS EuroBonus member? Then you can register for "voice check-in" and reserve a seat via your cell phone. The reservation is confirmed by text message.

 

Fast track at Copenhagen and Stockholm airport
At the airports of Copenhagen and Stockholm is a Fast Track security check. Both SAS Business Class passengers and SAS Economy Flex passengers can use this and avoid long waiting times.

 

SAS Lounges
In most SAS lounges it is possible to check in.

 

For all check-in possibilities you need a valid passport.

Singapore Airlines
Online check-in is possible from 48 hours up to 2 hours before departure, except for flights to the US. You can also print your boarding card for most flights.

 

Please be at the SIA desk at the airport 40 minutes before departure at the latest, with your printed boarding card, to get it validated and to check in your luggage.

Swiss
Online check-in is possible via the Swiss website for passengers:

- with a viewtrip link in in the travel itinerary directly from Galileo viewtrip ;
- holding an e-ticket for a SWISS operated flight with a confirmed reservation;
- travelling without an infant (0-2 years);
- departing from an airport where web check-in is available (e.g. Amsterdam);
- groups of up to nine passengers.
